What the drawing objection fix does
Reads the objection
Lists each drawing objection with its rule and figures, and says whether it is fixed here, by an AI redraw, or needs you.
Margins and sheet numbers
Moves each drawing inside the 2.5 / 2.5 / 1.5 / 1.0 cm margins at its original size, and renumbers the sheet at the top.
Black and white, solid lines
Cuts every sheet to pure black and white at 300 DPI and thickens hair lines that would drop out when the office scans them.
AI redraw for shading and photos
Replaces gray shading with outlines or line shading, or traces a photo as a line drawing, keeping every part, numeral and label in place.
Replacement Sheet PDF
Each sheet keeps its number in the full set and carries the “Replacement Sheet” label in the top margin, as 37 CFR 1.121(d) asks.
Amendment text
Writes the Amendments to the Drawings section and the remarks paragraph from the changes actually made.
Which objections it fixes
Most drawing objections are about form, not substance, and form can be fixed without touching what the drawing shows. The tool fixes those and marks the rest for you.
- Fixed here: margins (37 CFR 1.84(g)), sheet size (1.84(f)), sheet numbers (1.84(t)), the Replacement Sheet label (1.121(d)), faint or thin lines (1.84(l)).
- AI redraw: gray shading and solid black areas (1.84(m)), color drawings and photographs (1.84(a)–(b)).
- Needs you: a claimed feature that is not shown (1.83(a)), numerals not in the description (1.84(p)(5)), numerals under 3.2 mm (1.84(p)(3)) and figure labels (1.84(u)).
No new matter
A replacement sheet may correct how a drawing is drawn, but it may not add anything the application did not disclose (37 CFR 1.121(f)). The format fixes never change the drawing's content. An AI redraw is told to keep every part, line, numeral and label, and the page shows it next to the original so you can compare them before filing.
How to answer a drawing objection
- Upload the drawings PDF you filed, or one image per sheet.
- Paste the drawing objection and read the list (10 credits, free with a subscription).
- Check each replacement sheet, redraw the ones with shading or photos, and untick the sheets that do not change.
